Capturing project covers with headless Chrome

A portfolio needs pictures of the work. If the work is a live site, the browser already installed on your machine will take them — no service, no subscription.

FoundChrome ships a screenshot flag. One command gets a clean, repeatable, correctly sized capture of any live page.

The menu that was 0.63 pixels tall

A full-screen mobile panel collapsed to nothing. No error, no warning — just a button that appeared to do nothing. The cause was a blur.

Foundbackdrop-filter silently makes an element a containing block for position:fixed children — so a fixed panel sizes against its blurred ancestor, not the viewport.

Measuring contrast instead of trusting your eyes

The primary button looked fine and failed WCAG AA. Computing the ratio in the browser takes about ten lines and catches what eyeballing never will.

FoundWhite on a mid-bright accent almost always fails AA. Compute the ratio before committing to a palette, not after a client asks about accessibility.

Who’s behind this

I’m Bek. I use AI the way you’d use a fast, very literal colleague — it does a lot of the typing, I do the deciding.

Most of what ends up on this site started as a question I couldn’t answer by reading about it, so I built the thing instead. The write-ups are the notes I wish I’d found first.
